dispenser fixed but ice maker still not working

Put in a new dual valve on my GE PWE23KYNBFS after the water dispenser quit. Checked part number, wiring seemed straightforward. Dispenser's back, but the ice maker is still dead two days later.

The thing that bugs me is the two-wire connector... it fits either way. Some say polarity doesn't matter for a solenoid, but I can't shake the feeling I might've plugged it in backwards. If that's not it, then either the ice maker just picked this time to fail, or there's another bottleneck like the fill tube being frozen. does polarity on that two-wire plug matter, or am I chasing ghosts and need to dig into the ice maker itself?

@Dominia_Yizkor I ran into the exact same problem on a different GE model. the culprit was the frozen fill tube.
It's an incredibly common issue, and it's easy to miss. Take a good flashlight and look at the plastic tube that runs from the top of the freezer, behind the ice maker.
If you see a chunk of ice in there, grab a hairdryer and gently thaw it out. A small drip over time can cause a plug that stops the flow, and it's a quick fix if you catch it

Polarity doesn’t matter on those solenoid valves, so flipping the connector won’t change anything, the dispenser, if its working but the ice side’s dead after a couple days, check for a frozen fill tube or run the ice maker test cycle to see if it’s even calling for water

@bottomoftheocean is right, plug orientation isn’t likely the culprit. Most likely, the ice maker itself or a frozen fill tube is causing the problem

Might be the ice maker itself or a bad connection on that end. Have you sorted it out?
