how to remove old fridge water line?

Whirlpool fridge help... model WRF736SDAMLL, about 8 years old. The external water line cracked, so I bought a replacement and hooked it up to the intake valve just fine. Problem is, I have no clue how to get the old line out and attach the other end. I've looked everywhere and can't find a video that covers this exact model. Has anyone done this repair before? Do I need to pull panels off inside, or is there a trick to releasing the old line at the dispenser? Just trying not to break more plastic in the process.

Connection for the water dispenser line often goes up and into the door and this part is usually secured behind a panel or two inside the freezer or on the back of the fridge itself. The line doesn't just pop out with a simple tool though and you need to carefully remove screws and lift a panel or two to expose the actual connection point, which is typically a push-to-connect fitting that you can release by pushing in a collar around the line. Inspect the back and inside of the freezer compartment for any panels first.

You do not need to pull any panels off inside the freezer or fridge! The trick is entirely in the dispenser control area on the door.
Unplug the fridge, then carefully remove the dispenser control panel, it's usually just clipped or screwed behind the drip tray.
Once that's off, you're looking for a small push-to-connect fitting tucked up inside.
To release the old line, just push the small collar inward toward the fitting while simultaneously pulling the water line straight out.
It's normal that it takes some force on the collar to release the grip.
Then to install the new line, simply push the clean, straight end firmly into that same fitting until it seats.
That's the non-destructive way to get it done!

You’ll find a quick connect fitting either behind the kick plate or up inside the door where the line runs to the dispenser. Push the collar in while pulling the line out and it should release without much force. Sometimes though you'd have to remove the bottom panel to get better access, but no need to tear the whole door apart
