Installing new sensor on Viking hood

I'm working on installing a new sensor in my Viking hood and ran into a bit of a snag. I've managed to lower the control panel a little bit, but there just isn't enough space to work comfortably. Does anyone have tips on how to safely drop it all the way down? I'd really appreciate any advice

I ran into something similar last year while replacing the temp sensor on my Viking hood. What helped me was loosening the side mounting screws just enough to pivot the control panel forward without stressing the wiring. Did you already disconnect the power and label the wire connections? That made reassembly way easier for me.

I'm sure you've figured it out already but where the light bulbs are, you'll find there are two screws there.

There are usually a couple of hidden screws at the back or sides holding the panel in place even sometimes tucked behind the light lens or trim but once they are out, the whole panel should hinge or drop down more easily
