repairing Jenn Air JJW3430 oven

I'm helping my buddy repair his wife's Jenn Air JJW3430 oven.

It's throwing an F6E1 over temperature code, with the top of the oven hitting 900 degrees while the bottom is only at 350.

The top convection fan isn't spinning, even though the fan motor and temperature sensor both checked out fine with a meter.

Now, how do we figure out if the problem is the touch pad or the main control board? Any ideas?

Since the fan and sensor check out, the issue might be with the control board failing to send power. You could try running a diagnostic mode if available, or check for voltage at the fan during operation. If there's none, that points more to the board than the touch pad. Hope that helps!

I got a similar problem before, the issue is in the touchpad. The touchpad's job is to send a signal to the control board, but it doesn't directly control the fan's power.
If the touchpad were faulty, you would likely be getting different error codes, or the buttons wouldn't respond at all.
The fact that the oven is trying to run but failing to operate the fan points to a problem with the control board's output, not the touchpad's input

Since the fan motor and sensor test fine, I'd lean toward the control board misfiring signals. You might try running a diagnostic mode if available, to see if the board's triggering the fan at all. Any signs of burnt spots or swollen caps on the board?
