Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose a control problem with my oven.
My oven will intermittently shut off any burners or ovens Im using arbitrarily with no set pattern or conditions. The clock never loses power and I can turn whatever Im using right back on. I checked the cooling fan and it is running. Any suggestions on what to ck?
Thanks in Advance for your help.

Hi Gordon, I've had a similar issue before. Have you looked at the ribbon cable connecting the touch panel to the main control board?
Over time, the silver traces on this flat cable can migrate and short out, causing all sorts of weird, intermittent issues. Carefully remove and re seat it, and check for any signs of discoloration or damage.
Also, double check all the wiring connections on the back of the oven to make sure there are no loose terminals

Thanks for the tip! Did reseating the ribbon cable fully fix the issue for you, or did you end up replacing it?

It sounds like you're dealing with a failing oven control board.
The fact that the clock stays on while the elements shut off is a classic symptom of that issue.
To fix it, you'll need to pull the oven out to access the board and get the part number. You can find replacements online!
Just also be sure to shut off the breaker before you start the job.
