F3 E2 error code on KitchenAid range

What is this F3 E2 error code? This appeared last night on our 30" KitchenAid slide-in range (model KSIB900ESS) which is about 3 years old. We heard a strange buzzing sound from it. The screen flickered, then showed the error code.

We already had to replace the broil element last year, so now I'm wondering if this is another pricey fix. Has anyone dealt with this kind of error before? Is it usually the sensor or something bigger like the control board? Not sure if I should let go of this range or is it still fixable.

That code's almost always temp sensor territory. Sometimes you get lucky and it's just the wiring harness cooked from heat. If it's the control board, that's when it gets expensive. I'd test the sensor with a multimeter first.

The oven temperature sensor has a problem or its connection. Before worrying about the control board, check the sensor wiring and resistance, It might even be easy to fix

hi @brandnewlighttt that buzz and flickering are definitely red flags, here are a couple of tips for you OP.
first thing to do is reset! before you buy any parts, flip the circuit breaker for 60 seconds. seriously, a hard power reset clears many electronic glitches.
the F3 E2 error usually points to the oven temperature sensor (RTD) or its immediate wiring, and that buzzing and flickering could mean the wiring harness is indeed cooked or shorted out. you need to visually inspect the sensor wires for burn marks, pinching, or breaks

Could be a loose connection or a faulty sensor rather than the whole control board, try unplugging the range for a few minutes and checking the sensor wiring, see if that clears it, but if it persists, the sensor itself might need replacing
