Frigidaire ice maker auger won’t stop after power surge

My Frigidaire ice maker's auger motor won't stop running after a power surge. Even when I switch it to water mode, it keeps going. I've tried resetting the control panel and unplugging the machine for about 10 minutes, but nothing has helped. The only way to stop it is by disconnecting the 5-pin harness. Does anyone know which component might have shorted out?

I had the same problem with my 2020 Frigidaire FG4H2272UF after a lightning storm. The ice maker kept running, even when set to water. For me, a part on the main board got stuck and kept sending power. I changed the board and that fixed it. You can also check the small switch in the dispenser, but if unplugging didn't work, the board is probably the issue. Hope that helps!

I’d bet the dispenser control board or the auger relay on it got fried during the surge. If the auger motor runs nonstop regardless of mode, the relay is probably stuck closed, check for burn marks, pull the board

Power surges just love to cook control boards, the relay on the board is probably stuck closed. You could try replacing just the board, part number depends on your exact model

I think this is a common issue for an ice cream maker. whether it's bcs of a faulty dispenser switch or a stuck motor relay.
this is what I did. first, unplug the fridge and inspect the dispenser switch for damage or debris that is causing it to stay engaged. Test the switch with a multimeter for continuity.
if the switch is fine, check the motor relay on the control board, it may be stuck closed. Replacing the relay or switch usually resolves the issue. Regularly clean the dispenser area to prevent mechanical jams
