Grease or no grease when replacing dryer rollers and axles?

My dryer has been getting progressively noisier. I finally took it apart this weekend and found the rollers and axles are worn out and due for replacement, phew easy enough at least. The part I’m stuck on is whether to grease the new ones before putting everything back together, someone told me it just attracts lint and ends up gumming up the works. The old rollers looked completely dry, but they lasted a good while

Most newer rollers are meant to run dry since the bearings are sealed or self lubricating so yyh adding grease can actually trap lint like you heard, just clean everything well and install them dry unless the manufacturer specifically says otherwise

I agree with @Hacksaw and if the old ones lasted that long without any grease, the new ones should do the same. Just make sure you're getting good quality replacements and not the cheapest ones you can find

Yep, I’m with @Hacksaw and @trendyfixer_. Most modern dryer rollers are designed to run dry, and adding grease usually causes more problems than it solves once lint gets involved.
