Problem with LG top loading washer

I've had this machine for about 4 years and it's been doing great for me, but yesterday it developed a problem. It doesn't fill with water at all, there is some noise, the normal one I usually hear, but it's completely dry. Is this something I can fix myself if it's something simple or should I call a pro?

@Sindieslife1 Before you do anything else, have you make sure that both the hot and cold water faucets behind the washer are completely turned on?
Then, check the hoses leading to the washer to make sure they aren't kinked or blocked.
There are usually small filter screens where the hoses connect to the back of the machine. those can get clogged with sediment and completely block water flow. Cleaning them out is a quick and easy first step

Had this issue with my mom's LG top loader last summer. What happend was the inlet valve was clogged with hard water buildup. If you're hearing the usual hum but no water, it's likely the valve or the water supply hoses. Try checking the filters inside the hose connections first (they're tiny mesh screens that can get gunked up). Easy fix if that's the case! Did anything change with your water pressure recently?

Thanks for the tip! I have an LG top loader too, got it secondhand last year when I moved. It works fine, but lately it's been filling slower. I didn't know about those little filters. Did you clean the valve or swap it out? And what did you use to clean the buildup, is it vinegar or something stronger?

Does the washer display any error codes?
