Checking resistance in Drain Pump motors

Greetings,

I have a Kitchenaid model KDPE234GPS that's about 5 years old now with what I suspect might be a bad drain pump. I had a kitchen reface done and the contractors after working on my sink, forgot to turn on the water for my dishwasher which we ran a few cycles afterwards. At first, we didn't notice but soon we realized that our dishes were no longer getting clean. I checked the filter which was very clean but noticed nasty water in the location below where it sits. Not sure if this area should be completely pumped out or if its normal for some settling. My drain line is clear and I see no other areas under the filter area showing any signs of obstructions.

We went to an appliance store to see what a replacement would cost as a worst-case scenario. At about $800-$1000 that's not an option I am willing to accept. We explained to the sales reps what happened and right away they said my drain pump was bad because it ran without water.

So....here I am looking for some answers...

Can anyone confirm what the resistance should be for a drain pump that's within an OEM range? I'd like to know a little more before I order a part that is not bad and still have the same problem. I watched a repair video of someone explaining that confirming proper resistance might be a way to check if the drain pump is bad.

The replacement part appears to be PN: W10876537.

UPDATE:

Cancel. I found my answer. In the case of my drain pump: PN-W10876537, it should measure between 160-260 ohms or: 210 +/- 50 Ohms.

Glad you tracked it down! must be satisfying when the numbers line up like that
