Do these smart washers actually save you money or just add headaches?

I'm thinking I should upgrade this my 10 year old washer that still runs fine. I decided to take a look at the smart models that connect to wifi and have all those app features, but I'm skeptical. One sales guy says the energy monitoring and auto detergent ordering will pay for itself but I remember my neighbor saying his smart washer's app stopped working after a year and now he can't even start a load from the front panel, he has to use the app that crashes constant
On a flipside its actually possible his problem was more personal to him than a general benchmark with smart washers and maybe he was just unlucky

I would love opinions on this, anyway I'm not in a hurry to purchase anything or so, just needed other opinions and maybe some experiences if possible

Heck yh, your 10 yr old washer still works, keep it. Smart features are solving problems you don't have

I agree with @solo.shifter. If your current washer is still running well, the smart features probably won’t save you much and could end up causing headaches. Sometimes sticking with a reliable, simple machine is the best choice.
