Kitchen Aid oven display randomly goes black mid bake

The oven display keeps cutting out, but only when it's actually heating. I'll be 20 minutes into baking something and suddenly the display goes completely dark and the oven stops heating, so in my presumed wisdom, I let it sit for about 30 minutes or more and it comes back on by itself like nothing happened. I called a tech who immediately said control board and quoted $380 for parts plus labor. But the display works perfectly fine when it's on and there's no error codes, everything functions normally, it's just the intermittent shutoff that's the issue, and it only seems to happen when the oven has been running for a bit
If you're wondering, yes I bake a lot

Before I drop $500+ on a control board, is there anything simpler I should check first?
Please help, thanks in advance

I'm thinking more like a thermal relay or a bad solder joint on the board than the whole board being shot. Usually when things work fine cold but fail after heating up, it's usually something expanding or a component that can't handle the heat anymore
Maybe control board?

@fullstack.brother sounds frustrating! Before dropping hundreds on a new board, check for loose connections or any burn marks behind the display and control board. Have you tried gently flexing the wiring while it’s on to see if it cuts out?
