LG dishwasher is leaking

My daughter's got a pretty annoying problem with her dishwasher, and I'm trying to help her figure it out.

She's got an LG dishwasher, model LSDF9962ST, and she has had it for more than 5 years. The issue is that the dishwasher starts leaking right away as soon as the tub begins to fill up. And it's not just a drip – it's leaking pretty much dead center from the bottom of the unit.

Has anyone here ever had this happen with an LG, or seen this problem before? We're trying to figure out what might be going on so we can fix it! Any ideas what she might be up against?

Im thinking it could be a cracked sump or a bad seal where the motor or valve connects, pretty common on older LG models. You'll probably need to pull it out and check underneath to see what's going on. If it's the sump, the part's available, just a bit of a job to replace. Definitely fixable though, thats for sure

LG leaks like that usually trace back to the sump or a faulty seal. Before tearing it apart, double-check the door gasket and make sure the dishwasher is level because sometimes even a small tilt can cause early leaks. Have you looked at those yet?

@browny50 yep, leaks like that usually come from the sump or a bad seal. Before taking it apart, check the door gasket and make sure the unit is level. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
