Only hot water coming out on washer/dryer

I wanted to use my Sears Kenmore combination washer/dryer as normal today. It worked fine for the last couple of years so I was surprised that the washer is only pushing out hot water now even though you press the cold water option. I'm guessing this is a valve problem? What exactly do I need to replace?

could be the cold side is stuck or dead altogether so try cleaning the screen first, but odds are the whole valve will need replacing.

You'll probably need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. you can usually find parts by searching online with your washer's model number.

Guess it's the inlet valve sticking or clogged but I'm curious too. could it be a sensor issue?

Odds are your inlet valve's stuck or fried, quit poking buttons and swap the damn valve. Thermostat worship won't fix a mechanical failure

I totally agree. This part controls the cold water flow into the washer. Changing it out should fix things.

Just replace the inlet valve assembly as a whole. It is sold as one piece and this is not difficult to swap once you disconnect the hoses and wiring.
