Test a Frigidaire Compressor

How do I check if this compressor is working with a multimeter? Is on a Frigidaire Model FRT21KS5A Refrigerator/Freezer. Was unplugged for two weeks, but failed to cool down after it was plugged back in again. Also, does this have both a start and a run capacitor? And how do I test the thermostat inside the fridge section? Thanks.

Pull the relay off the compressor and check the three compressor terminals with your meter. You should read resistance between each pair (start–run, run–common, start–common), and none should be open or shorted to the casing. If those check out, then the compressor windings are intact.
That model usually just uses a start relay combo rather than separate start and run caps, so you may not see two capacitors.
For the thermostat, disconnect power, pull the two leads off, and check continuity through it. At warm temps it should be closed (continuity), and if you chill the sensing bulb in ice water you should see it open once the set temp is reached.
Now, for the last part, if the compressor tests good electrically and the thermostat is closing, then the problem could be with the relay/overload assembly or the sealed system itself
